This past 4th of July I ran the Coronado 15K for the 4th time since I've moved to San Diego. It was my first San Diego race in 2008, and I came back to run it again in 2009 and 2010. I would've run last year as well but I was up in San Francisco for the NKOTBSB concert (OH YEAH!!) for the 4th. (More on the concert here.)
Creative Parking
Pre-Race with Tara
To show our patriotic pride Tara and I ran the race together in our Miss American Pie style Glam Runner tutus. What better way to show your love for your country?
We Made Tutu Friends!
I love the 15K race distance because it is more challenging than a 10K and you feel like you're working, but its not quite so hard as a half-marathon.
Deaf, Blind Runner in the Yellow Shirt - Wow
How Do I Look So Sexy While Running? Magic.
Rockstar Hands for the Finish
Approaching the Finish Line
After the race we bumped into some of our fellow GOTR coaches and chit chatted for a while before parting ways and heading home.
Go Girls on the Run!
If you live in San Diego and you've never run this race, you should check it out! Its a lot of fun and a great way to kick off the 4th of July.

I ran that race in 2007 when I lived in San Diego. It was my first road race EVER -- loved it. Hoping one day I can come back and run it again!
Hello Monika,
Just a quick message to ask if you would be interested in a mutual following on twitter. I am currently following you now and am awaiting for your follow-back if you indeed decide to do so...
All the very best for the rest of 2012 and beyond Monika. Hope to hear back from you soon...

PS.(#FYI I do RT's for all #Triathletes #Cyclists #UltraRunners & #Marathoners who follow me and have something important they want mentioned...)
Wow, SPAM above! I hate it when people want to develop a "mutual following" relationship. If I like you and you have valuable things to say, I follow. If not, I don't. Simple as that. It's not a marketing thing for me. How annoying.
Anyhoo... you guys looked great in your tutus for the race! I would like to run a 15k but I don't like crowds and 4th of July on Coronado seems too crowded for me.
There's a 15K in January by Mission Bay which is way less crowded. Its called the Resolution Run. You should do it! I ran it this past year.
I ran this race too! And I totally saw you ladies :) I thought the skirts were great! This was my 2nd year running and I love it. Such a great way to start a holiday.
And it's actually not too crowded since it's early. I usually arrive a little after 6 and don't have to park too far away.
